Ballroom Dance


Ballroom Instructional

 

Three Instructor-led classes (L1, L2 and L3) are available for members who are interested in

learning how to dance. They are for beginners, intermediate & advanced participants

respectively. Steps are taught in each level, but the emphasis for each class is as follow:

L1 (level 1) basic movements (weight shift, contra body) + basic steps (bronze/pre-

bronze)

L2 (level 2) posture, technique and intermediate steps + intermediate steps

(bronze/silver)

L3 (level 3 lead/follow, communications + advanced steps (gold/open).

Dances will include International Standard (Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Tango etc) and

Latin (Rumba, Cha-cha, Jive, Samba etc.). Participants must be MOTM members. They are

required to pay a fee either with packaged rate or ad hoc rate i.e. per lesson based. A

minimum of 5 couples is required for any class to be started. The maximum number of

couples is 12 based on the current size of our venue.

Ballroom Practice


Ballroom Practice(s) are free programs for members who are interested to practise/improve

their dancing steps & technique. All members are welcome without any pre-requisites.

Discussions are encouraged among participants as long as they are not in the way of the line

of dance. Music will be provided for the entire duration of the program.

Ballroom Dancing


Dancing at Milliken Mills, Wednesday

Time 2:15 pm - 4:15 pm


All MOTM members are welcome to enjoy an afternoon of Ballroom Dancing


Strictly Ballroom Ten Dances music is played in this program and members are advised not practice steps so that are not distracted while dancing to the flow of the dance floor.


The first 15 minutes are delicate for warm up and no music will be played. The last 15 minutes are for dancers to practice steps or routines where they are facing difficulties. Dance floor rules are lifted during these times.

Line Dance

MOTM Line Dance Programs (See Schedule for Time)


MOTM has two locations for Line Dance. Milliken Mills C. C. and Rouge River C. C.


Line Dance Practice at Rouge River C. C.

This program offers Beginner Plus level dances introduced by our Volunteer Instructor. Dancers must have some line dancing experience.


Line Dance Level I at Milliken Mills C. C.

This program offers Beginner to Beginner Plus dances taught by our Volunteer Instuctor. This program is for beginner dancers with some experience. Experience dancers are welcome to join.


Line Dance Level II at Milliken Mills C. C.

This program offers Beginner Plus and Improver dances taught by our Volunteer Instructor. Dancers who have attained some experience of Line Dancing and wish to proceed to the next level of Line Dancing.


Line Dance Low Intermediate at Milliken Mills C.C.

This program offers Low Intermediate dances taught by our Volunteer Instructor. This program is for experienced dancers and is not recommended for beginners.

For All our Line Dance Programs we suggest that participants wear dancing shoes. Line Dance or Ballroom.
